As we move into 2024, it’s a time to reflect and set business goals for the upcoming year. It’s easy to become caught up in a narrative where you say, “My business would be a success if only I had x.” For you, the missing element might be time, money, or resources. But in order to grow your business, it’s more helpful to tell yourself, “I’m going to be who I need to be so that I’ll then do what I need to do in order to have what I want to have.” So how do you get there? It’s all about perspective.

Write down your affirmations, figure out who you want to be, and operate in that space in 2024. Because if you keep being who you’ve always been, you’re going to keep doing what you’ve always done, and you’re going to keep getting the results you’ve always gotten. And we want something new for this year.

Pamela Grice, Business Coach

In this episode, we talk about setting achievable goals, identifying what’s holding you back, and then becoming who you need to be in order to move your business forward. Whether that’s delegating work or investing money to gain more time back in your day, the key is deciding what kind of person you will be and living that each day.

Setting achievable goals for 2024

  • “I did get back from a week at the beach so I had some downtime to let my brain stop and think about what this year can be and what I need to do to get there … And not make it huge chunks of steps. Really, there can be little goals for each quarter that will actually move the business forward with is what we’re talking about today.” – Teri
  • “Dan Sullivan says, ‘Never make more than three goals.’ So set three goals. And you can do fewer but don’t do more.” – Pam

Changing your mindset to cultivate success

  • “The bottom line is when we look at our businesses, at least for me, I know where the hiccup is happening. I know where I’m being delayed. And so that’s got to move first to move the needle and I can’t do any of the other steps until that needle’s moved.” – Teri
  • “I think if we can, as business owners, really look—like, ‘Where is that piece that’s really missing and what can we do for it?'” – Teri
  • “As we move into the new year, thinking about, ‘How do I manage to shift my own perspective and what is keeping me stuck in that place?'” – Pam
  • “Instead of saying, ‘I’m going to wait for more money,’ ‘I’m going to be who i need to be so that i’ll then do what i need to do in order to have what i want to have, which is the more money.'” – Pam
  • “That’s a good goal for 2024. For business owners out there, as you’re sitting and looking at your list, ‘How do i do this and put the money out of it and realize that time is money?’ You’re going to get more time back when you do that.” – Teri

Becoming who you need to be to move your business forward

  • “When I look at my list of ‘dos,’ what kind of person does those things? A strategic person. An action-taker. A risk-taker. Someone who’s courageous. Take those words and write them as affirmations. ‘I’m a risk taker. I’m an action taker. I’m a strategic person.’ And start shifting your brain wiring by using those affirmations every single day.” – Pam
  • Get yourself out of the worry phase and the anticipatory anxiety. We create this anxiety around what we’re anticipating is going to be hard and we make it so much harder than it actually is. So just brushing that aside and saying, ‘What do i need to do? All right.’ And then do that.” – Pam
  • “Write down your affirmations, figure out who you want to be, and operate in that space in 2024. Becuase if you keep being who you’ve always been, you’re going to keep doing what you’ve always done, and you’re going to keep getting the results you’ve always gotten. and we want something new for this year.” – Pam
